Sandrine Grenier
Sandrine Grenier is a qualified B2B freelance English-to-French translator and language trainer, with a university background that spans Applied Foreign Languages (LEA) and a degree in Languages, Literature and Civilisations of English-speaking countries, with options in Italian and Polish. She started with a literary baccalaureate in three languages -- English, German, and Spanish -- and has been working with language in one professional capacity or another ever since.
Before moving into translation, Sandrine taught for 24 years as a CAPES-certified teacher within the French Ministry of National Education, and as a visiting lecturer at IUT Geii in Bordeaux, where she helped engineering and IT students develop professional English for their fields. During that period she also wrote Cned's précis for the new LLCE specialty curriculum she taught, and built a bilateral educational partnership with Sarala Birla Academy in Bangalore -- one of several international programmes she set up with schools and institutions across four countries.
She completed Edvenn's professional Translator certification in 2020-21 and launched her freelance business, SG Traductions, in 2022. Her technical translation work covers technology (energy, construction, water, agriculture, textiles, food processing), scientific and life sciences content, sustainable tourism, and maritime sectors. She also offers SEO optimisation, content creation, and proofreading and post-editing of both human and machine-assisted translations.
Sandrine is a member of the SFT (Société française des traducteurs), the ITI French Network, and the North West Translators' Network, and served as an elected member of the SFT's Délégation Aquitaine. She is a regular speaker at post-baccalaureate schools on professional communication, and is currently learning Japanese.
